On August 6, my mom, my sister, and I went to a sandwich shop and ordered three sandwiches. One of them was a meatball sandwich, another was mine, and my sister’s sandwich also had pickles.
When we got our food, I noticed that the pickles on my sandwich looked unusual. They were white, gooey, sticky, falling apart, and looked moldy. We politely told the employees because we were concerned about the food.
Instead of taking our concern seriously, they told us the pickles were not moldy. They called the manager over, but he also insisted that the pickles were fine and even said they were the best ones. Throughout the conversation, the manager kept shaking his head and gave us an attitude, which made us feel like we were doing something wrong for bringing up a food safety concern.
After we left, the employees continued giving us dirty looks, which made us feel uncomfortable, almost as if they thought we were trying to steal something or cause problems. We were disappointed because we expected our concern to be treated respectfully and professionally.
