  I had a very disappointing experience at Advance Auto Parts in Oak Lawn. I brought my vehicle in because I was having a starting issue and asked the employee to check the battery and charging system. The lady tested it and told me that the battery was fine but the alternator was bad. Based on that information, I went to the dealership to have the vehicle properly diagnosed. The dealership tested everything and told me that the starter and alternator are both good, but the battery is actually very bad and needs to be replaced.

  This was my second AAP store of the day, the 1st which I won’t take the time to formally name, was of no help. The manager on duty couldn’t even take the time to help the cashier who might’ve been new? Because he didn’t know how to handle an online return nor did he seem interested in helping me out. Mind you I had the emailed receipt. Their option was to just call customer service. - So I did what any insane person would do and drive to the next closest AAP, which was this one on Cicero. I brought in my item to return and the young man at the front was also unfamiliar with online returns. He however took the time to ask the manager on duty the right questions and she walked him through the process. I was out of there in 5 minutes. They weren’t bothered I was there and they helped me out expeditiously.
