Here is why I am leaving Allstate, and transferring all of my policies to Chubb Insurance.
My wife was involved in an auto accident in 2022, in which she was a pedestrian in a hit and run. The injury resulted in a compound fracture of her right arm, requiring hospitalization and surgical intervention. I carry uninsured/underinsured coverage and her injury is squarely within this policy coverage. The police reports and medical records substantiate both liability and damages.
Allstate, however, has fought the claim at every step. First, they claimed that there was no evidence she was involved in an automobile accident, despite the police report and collaborating witness statements. Then, they fought based upon valuation of her injury—an gruesome injury that I personally witnessed, to include blood and bones sticking out of her arm. This is where we are today.
Counsel for Allstate intimated that it will be uncomfortable going through discovery. As an attorney, I knew what was coming. However, tonight I see that they requested and received medical records not just for my wife, and her injury, but for me and my children, one of whom has special needs. These records are completely irrelevant, they post-date the injury by at least a year, and are clearly an intimidation attempt.
Allstate has offered no resolution of the claim. In my opinion, they are simply delaying and intimidating, hoping that we'll drop the claim.
This review does not reflect my opinions of this particular Allstate agency. It relates solely to the insurance products being sold. This review is an opinion. And as such, cannot form the factual basis of a counter-claim for libel. I will leave a legal conclusion up to the Illinois Department of Insurance, and section 155 of the Illinois Insurance Code.
You are truly awful human beings.
