So, I'm not a huge fan of wingstop. I've been to a few of them in a few different states, and despite how much I love my hot wings, this place typically never really did anything for me. I remember having fries here at a location in San Diego about 10 years ago, and they were good. But as far as the hot wings go, they're typically under seasoned, dry, overcooked, they just typically suck. Especially the location by my house, that's why I don't go there or to any other wingstops anywhere.
So that being said, I can literally say that this is the best Wingstop I have ever been to in My Life, and let me tell you why.
I personally think that a place that sells hot wings, and especially specializes in hot wings, should have an ample amount of sauce. Most people including me like them sauced to the gills. It should be an unspoken rule. But I hardly ever get enough sauce on the ones I've got before at other locations.
So I've been wanting hot wings since I saw it on a menu from a place I ate at yesterday. I have an ordered Wingstop in a few years, and apparently they have new flavors going on, such as Cajun (which is buffalo sauce with Cajun rub) and lemon hot (which is buffalo sauce with lemon pepper sprinkled on top). They have a couple others, but these are the two that I went with.
The dude at the counter taking my order was super cool! I was asking him about the different sauces and he was more than happy to explain them to me. I made the request to have my wings with extra sauce.
But did they deliver?
YEAH BOY HOWDY!
They gave me exactly what I wanted! My wings were super saucy, and I had a good amount of dry rub on top. I ordered 15 bone in, and was only able to get the two different flavors, but I ate them all in one sitting.
So here are my gripes. The nice dude asked me if I wanted two things of ranch, so I said sure. I didn't know that Wingstop charges a $1.50 for a little tiny cup of ranch sauce. Nobody else does. Plus one cup is more than enough for 15 wings.
Secondly, he asked my name for my order. Told me it would be about 15 minutes, which was fine I'm not in a hurry, but after a while not hearing my name I glanced back and my bag was just sitting there on the counter. Couldn't have been for too long, because when I got back to my truck my wings were still hot, but still, let us know when our order is ready so we can enjoy the food!
I'm kind of skeptical to going back to a Wingstop because I don't know if it will be this caliber, but this is definitely the location that Rick Ross needs to send his franchisees to, to learn how to actually make a good hot wing!
If I stop back here in belvedere, I'll definitely order another round!
