I'm an understanding customer when it comes to circumstances of lunch rush and all. BUT what is the point of allowing online pick-up orders when the store does not have the man power to handle both online and in-house orders?
I ordered my meal 2 hours prior to my pick-up time. I get to the store, they are slammed with people inside (10-12 people ) as well as people waiting for pick-up orders (employees stated that they were at least 10 online orders behind)
The two employees are in a "deer in headlights" state and couldn't even function on how to handle it all. I waited for 25 minutes and went ahead and asked if they started my order. They did not, so I asked "Can I cancel/reimburse my order?" They told me I would have to do that in the Subway App.
So I said, "Okay, please throw away my ticket, I will cancel my order online" and left the store. I get on my app and there is NO WHERE where I can cancel the order. So I have NO lunch and am out money. I called the store, no answer and left a message with my confirmation number. I am waiting patiently for a call back.
I get that they were slammed, but this is a very small town with only 2-4 options of food services available. During the school calendar, there should be a shift of extra help during lunch rush hour. It definitely was not fair to those two employees to try to handle that situation. And unfair to their reliable customers.
I plan to follow back IF they call me back.
