My experience here was very disappointing. We came in about 25 minutes before closing, which is still during normal business hours. From the moment we walked in, it was clear one employee was frustrated that customers were still here. He was making comments to a coworker about people coming in before closing, and he wasn’t exactly quiet about it. Customers could easily hear what he was saying.
There was also a large puddle of water near the checkout and drink station that should have been cleaned up, but the focus seemed to be on finishing closing duties and getting everyone out the door as fast as possible.
To top it off, when there was one minute until closing, the employee announced it to everyone in the store. Then, right at 10:00 PM, he stood in the lobby, repeatedly saying, “We’re closed,” while motioning with his hand for customers to leave. We were already heading to the front, but the way it was handled felt rude and unnecessary.
I completely understand employees wanting to get home at the end of their shift, but if the store is open until 10:00 PM, customers shouldn’t be made to feel like they’re an inconvenience for eating during posted business hours. A little professionalism and courtesy would go a long way.
Also, My 12 year old even mentioned how rude the kid was.
We walked in around 9:35 PM, with the store closing at 10:00 PM. Instead of feeling welcomed, it was obvious one employee was focused solely on getting everyone out of the store as quickly as possible. He was loudly complaining to a coworker, saying things like, “Why do people come in 20 minutes before we close?” and making other comments that customers could clearly hear.
What was even more concerning was that there was a large puddle of water around the checkout area and drink station that appeared to be ignored while the priority seemed to be rushing customers out the door. The employee was running around the store trying to finish closing tasks instead of providing good customer service or addressing an obvious safety hazard.
Customers who come in during posted business hours should be treated with respect, not made to feel like an inconvenience. This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve had in a retail store.
