  experience at O’Reilly Auto Parts today was absolutely terrible. I went in with a very simple question about a bolt for the undercarriage of my vehicle, and the employee seemed completely uninterested in listening to what I was saying or understanding what I was asking. What frustrated me the most was the lack of fundamental reading comprehension and basic understanding. I was explaining the situation as clearly as I could, yet I felt like the employee wasn’t actually listening or making any effort to comprehend what I needed help with. For a basic question, the interaction was unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. Honestly, the experience left me questioning the level of training and customer service expected from the employees at this location. It genuinely felt like the hiring standards were extremely low because there was such a lack of basic knowledge, communication, and willingness to help. I came in expecting a simple answer or at least someone willing to point me in the right direction. Instead, I left feeling completely dismissed. I’m sharing this because customers deserve to feel heard and assisted when they walk into a business. After today’s experience, I have no reason to return to this O’Reilly Auto Parts location in Ames

  Excellent customer service from Zach getting our wipers put on correctly for us and looking up parts for us inside. I was peppering him with questions about the wipers because it was one of the weirdest connectors I'd seen and the aftermarket adapters looked completely different than the wipers we'd taken off. He was patient in showing me what he was doing and getting us squared away. I like to know how things work, especially if Zach's not there next time I have to change them, LoL, so I appreciated him taking the time to show me how the kit went together to fit the new wipers on. Today I learned what Top Lock I&L connectors are...

  I went in to get parts. Zach was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to look up what I needed and cross reference. He also gave me recommendations. I am switching from O'Reilly to this place because of this young man's exceptional service. Ty Zach for going above and beyond. Also ty for helping the gentleman change his battery in the terrible heat without complaint. God bless you. I believe you deserve a raise.
