I've been a box holder at The UPS Store in Kona for over 10 years, and I've consistently had positive experiences here. The staff is always helpful and works hard to get things done in a timely manner.
They've assisted me with everything from managing my mail and packages to shipping items and processing my Amazon returns. I've also had passport photos done here for my entire family, and the process has always been quick and easy.
Like any busy business, there are times when they get overwhelmed, but even during those periods, the team remains efficient and focused on helping customers. I appreciate the reliable service they've provided me over the years.

Yes they were helpful when we brought our package in to be shipped, but after that our package/picture NEVER made it to the Mainland. We called to check status several times. Based on the UPS tracking system, a shipping label was created, but never scanned. We were told the UPS drivers do the scanning when they pick up the items. At one point we were were told that UPS averages 1 out 700 lost or misdirected package occurs. No one could explain why our package wasn’t scanned. Nit very comforting. These items were a gift from a friend who was moving back to the Mainland & wanted us to have them. They are not replaceable.
We even joked with the employees the day we dropped our items off, that if we don’t receive them, we know where to start our search.
Yes we filed a claim, but we wanted those pictures. Again they were irreplaceable.

Do not use the notary service at this UPS location! They don’t have a notary but referred me to Kae who drops in in the afternoon so I took off work early to drive to the UPS store where my document was notarized however, shortly afterwards, I got a communication from my insurance company that the notary forgot to stamp. Save yourself problems and go to Kona notary Service Where your greeted with a smile and treated like a real customer

We were shipping 3 train sets to WA state. In spite of all these posters around the office bragging about being shipping experts, they asked US about how large of a box we would need for these and how we wanted them wrapped. The main reason we went there was for THEM to figure all of that out, not expect us to tell them what size boxes or wrapping needed. We had 3 sets to ship, and one additional transformer which we had forgotten. We went the following day to ship the transformer, and when they pulled up the account, most of the information was wrong. They apparently added information to another customers account that was open on their computer so they has incorrect address of sender, incorrect phone number etc. The manager blamed this on our group even though the phone number and address were completey unknown to us. In addition the trains sets were brought in plastic storage containers and the manager was supposed to call when she was done with the packing so that the containers could be picked up. We never got a call.
Shipping these 4 boxes total, which probably had a total weight of 30-40 lbs was just shy of $900, ridiculously expensive.

My packages normally come to my house damaged. I don’t usually gripe about that. Today I received a package that looked like a four-year-old opened it at Christmas instead of using a box cutter, and then it looked like his two year-old little sibling taped the box back back up with pieces of cardboard missing mind you so when the package arrived parts are missing. I called the store and I asked them if they could simply have the driver look around if he sees something in his truck at the end of his deliveries, I can send them a picture of what’s missing and if he finds it to just give me a call nope, can’t do that. You need to open an investigation and all this other nonsense. So on the scale of one to 10 of being helpful they get a zero. Very disappointing that The management, or whoever is running this company and telling their workers how to do their job has no idea of how humans relate to one another.
