Who closes a store before the posted business hours the day before the first day of school? The sign says that you close at 6pm.
When multiple customers, many of them parents and teachers who are repeat shoppers politely stood outside and knocked on the door to ask why the store had closed earlier than the hours posted on the door, we were completely ignored. That level of customer service is unacceptable. Especially since the manager and staff walked right past us not once but multiple times. Is it hard to come to the door and let everyone know why you’re closed early on the day before the first day of school? Especially since you know that many parents and students shop here often?
The manager at this location has consistently been rude, unapproachable, and dismissive. This wasn’t an isolated incident. Based on both my own experiences and many of the other reviews, this appears to be an ongoing pattern. It doesn’t seem to matter how respectful or courteous customers are they are met with unnecessary hostility. I’ve witnessed this over a period of months not just today.
Citi Trends, why is this being allowed? The management at your other locations is polite, greets customers, understands company policies, and treats people with basic courtesy. This location is a complete contrast.
Customers work hard for their money and deserve to be treated with respect not as though they’re an inconvenience simply for walking through the door. Closing early without notice, especially the day before school starts when families are trying to purchase school clothes, is incredibly disappointing.
I sincerely hope corporate addresses both the customer service issues and the failure to honor the posted business hours. If this is the level of service this location intends to provide, many families in our community will likely choose to spend their money elsewhere.
