Let me start by saying I’ve lived in this neighborhood for the last 16 years and have been coming to this Advanced Auto store for that duration; never have I had an experience this bad! I visited store as of 2 weeks ago on Wednesday night, in need of spark plugs, due to having to take a trip out of town for a funeral. I initially got to the store around 7:45p and patiently waited in line a few minutes. The gentleman that was infront, seemed to be a native Spanish speaker, and was asking for a product, they either did not have or took the time to look for. The store rep, who I later found out was the manager, kept trying to send him to another store; O’Reilly’s to be exact. I waited so long the other rep came to the front and opened another register. I’m unsure of the part he was needing but clearly they didn’t seem interested in helping! I heard the manager and employee saying they couldn’t wait for him to leave and he was getting on their nerves, after he walked out! The lack of professionalism was the first strike. I was assisted by another rep since the gentleman took a while. I clearly stated the year, make and model of my vehicle and the part I was in need of, spark plugs. When I got home, I immediately started working on the vehicle, only to find out I was sold the wrong plugs. After putting the vehicle back together I was able to get back to the store about 8:50-55. The door clearly stated the store closes at 9p. Google store hours also match this time. When I reached the door it was locked to my surprise. After knocking the rep who sold me the plugs came to the door, to which I advised the part was wrong. The rep told me “ she didn’t sell me the wrong parts, the system did”, said there was nothing she could do because the systems were shut down and her manager advised her to lock the doors. I told her I had a funeral to go to in the morning and roughly a 9 hour drive and really needed the part because my service stabilitrak was illuminated and the vehicle cuts off sometimes due to misfires. I advised I only wanted to exchange for the right parts she should have sold me in the first place and system should not have been down until after the time it states the store closes, 9p. She had me wait outside and the manager would be out. I waited about 20 minutes because she took my plugs and had them inside w her otherwise I would have left. After 20 minutes, the employee and the manager walked out shut the lights and door. I tried to explain the situation and the fact I had somewhere to be, didn’t need to come in and only wanted an exchange for the correct part (same as I told the employee), I also referenced the door should not have been locked 10-15 minutes before store hours. The manager clearly had a demeanor of indifference and told me directly that she didn’t care if I wrote a review or called corporate, told me to do what I had to! She said her name was Jamiko (Tamiko). Clearly customer service has gone out the window at this location. These are the types of people and attitudes that run businesses into the ground. Advanced Auto Parts has to do a better job of training employees, especially mangers!!! I’m done spending my money here. Don’t waste your money on stores like this, that hire ignorant people who could care less about the franchise or their job.
