I am extremely disappointed by my experience with Simone, who identified herself as the General Manager at Advance in Richmond Hill, GA. During my visit on Monday, I simply asked if she was the General Manager, and from that point forward I was met with an attitude that I found unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and unprofessional.
As a disabled veteran who lives with severe anxiety and PTSD, I understand that not everyone knows what someone may be dealing with internally. However, basic courtesy, respect, and professionalism should be expected from anyone in a leadership position especially a General Manager who represents this company.
Simone’s demeanor and treatment towards me escalated my anxiety to the point that I left feeling upset, shaken, and disrespected. No customer should be made to feel that way, regardless of their background. As someone who served this country and sacrificed for the freedoms we all enjoy, I was deeply hurt by how I was treated.
Advance Auto Parts, I sincerely hope this is not the standard you set for your management team. Leadership starts with respect, and my experience reflected the exact opposite. I would appreciate someone from corporate reviewing this matter and addressing how customers are treated at this location. If this is how a General Manager interacts with customers, there is a serious problem that needs immediate attention.
One star. I will be reconsidering whether I do business with this location again. I will also be sharing my experience with other veterans and military families throughout the Richmond Hill and surrounding areas. We represent a significant portion of this community, and word travels quickly when veterans feel they have been treated unfairly or disrespectfully. No customer should leave an establishment feeling belittled, dismissed, or triggered by the very people entrusted to lead it. Advance Auto Parts should carefully consider whether this behavior reflects the values it wishes to represent.
