Honestly it pains me to say this cause I’ve only ever shopped at this specific Advance store, but I don’t really want to go back there anymore. The only helpful thing there was getting to use a cart to wheel out my parts. I had a failed water pump, and I unfortunately had to spend 250 dollars on parts because I didn’t have a choice, I needed to get to work the next day. I ordered about 8 things and then I needed to add a serpentine belt, which I found out I needed last second. I also needed some nitrile gloves for my RTV as I can never get gasket maker off my hands. I get up to the front and tell the guy at the front I have a pre-paid pickup and there were just a couple of things I wanted to add. I told him I needed just a serpentine belt and the gloves I already grabbed off the shelf. He looks at me and goes “dude one thing at a time” in a condescending way. This caught me off guard cause I work in retail and I have never talked to anybody like that, better yet I saw them dealing with rude customers before me and figured I will be as nice as I can be to them because I understand it can be frustrating dealing with people all day. He goes and grabs my pickup order and the guy at the next register says “you know pickups are really only for one or two things.” Which doesn’t make sense if I need multiple parts and fluids for a job. At this point I just don’t really wanna be there anymore and the guy comes back and says “what part do you wanna add?” And I just told him to forget it. I wasn’t comfortable being there anymore and it just ruined my mood. I later went all the way to the store in Hobe Sound to get a serpentine belt, which I usually avoid cause I have had rude employees there too, just never as bad. I used the cart to roll my stuff to my car and the cashier I had is watching me and standing outside the door. When I went to Hobe Sound I had a much better experience with the man at the register, but at this point even risking going to any Advance Auto and having to experience embarrassment just doesn’t sound appealing, which saddens me because I used to make friends and have conversations with some of the employees that used to work there. This is the only store I’ve been loyal to for 5 years whenever I have a problem with my truck and the whole store has completely went downhill. I have passed by O’Reilly and Autozone just to go to Advance, even when the others are much closer to my house. I’m not sure if there’s some actual rule against placing an order that contains more than two things or if the employees are just lazy, but regardless Advance has recently put a bad taste in my mouth and I’m just gonna start shopping at other stores since my worst experiences at those stores have been ten times better than how I was treated at Advance.
