I have used this UPS Store frequently for both shipping and Amazon returns. On June 15, I went in to make four separate Amazon returns. One of the items was accidentally left on the counter because I forgot to scan the return code on my phone, and the employee did not scan it while I was there.
I didn't realize the mistake until later when I reviewed my return receipt and noticed the item was missing. The next day, June 16, I called the store and asked if they still had the item since it had been left behind and was never scanned into their system.
I was told that the item had already been shipped out. I then asked how they could have shipped an item that was never scanned and had no tracking information or identification attached to it. I was told that everything left in the store gets shipped out at the end of the day.
I explained that an unscanned item with no identifying information should have been placed in a lost and found rather than shipped somewhere unknown. The response I received was essentially that it was my fault for leaving it behind and that it was "not their problem."
I fully acknowledge that leaving the item behind was my mistake. However, I do not understand how an item can be shipped without being scanned or associated with a customer or return. More disappointing was the lack of concern and unwillingness to help resolve the issue.
As a result, I am now out both the product and the money, with no explanation as to where the item was sent. The customer service and management response were extremely disappointing. A simple effort to help or show concern would have gone a long way.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me with a very negative impression of how customer issues are handled at this location.
