  I went to buy some antifreeze and asked the employee which one was right for a Suzuki GSX-R. He told me to look it up on the internet, left me alone with my wife, and walked out the door to the parking lot to talk to a friend, leaving the shop unattended. I ended up having to leave; he never came back inside.

  Very disappointed with Advance Auto Parts and how they handle their warranty process. I purchased a steering box costing over $600 a few years ago and was told that purchases could be looked up through their system if needed. Since I work on the road, I relied on that information. Now I’m being told that without the original paper receipt, there is nothing they can do. Ray told me I would have to drive five hours back to North Florida and go store to store trying to “figure it out” myself. That is not what a lifetime warranty should look like. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Advance Auto Parts over the years because I believed they stood behind their products. Unfortunately, this experience has made me question whether their warranties are actually worth anything. Guess my team of 30+ will be transferring to AutoZone. Edit. Called another location. They where able to locate my warranty in five minutes. The other store took note of Reys behavior to report to higher ups. All that Rey had to do was look up my part, than cross reference it with my account information. Miss Sara at the Inverness store said ANY advance auto could've done what she did. She was also disappointed in Rey and his store giving the advance team a bad name.

  I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Advance Auto Parts regarding a warranty issue. Several years ago, I purchased a steering box from Advance Auto Parts for over $600. At the time of purchase, I was told that the warranty information would be available through the Advance Auto Parts system and that any store should be able to look up the purchase if needed. I work on the road, so I relied on that information and trusted that the lifetime warranty would be honored based on their records. Now, after only four or five years, I am being told that because I no longer have the physical receipt, there is nothing they can do. I was specifically told by Ray that I would have to drive five hours back to North Florida and basically “figure it out” by going around to different stores to try to locate the purchase history myself. Ray repeated multiple times that I would just have to drive around to the North Florida stores and figure it out, as if that was a reasonable solution. That is not how a lifetime warranty should work, especially when I was originally told that Advance Auto Parts could look up purchases in their system. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Advance Auto Parts over the years because I believed the company stood behind the products they sell and the warranties they offer. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion. A lifetime warranty does not mean much if the customer is expected to keep a paper receipt for years and then do all the work themselves to prove a purchase that should be accessible through company records. I hope Advance Auto Parts reviews how these warranty situations are handled because customers who spend thousands of dollars with your company deserve better support and better accountability.

  Couldn't be bothered to look up the part. "You need me to do it because you said so" . I will never shop here again.
