I ordered 2 Reuben subs that have been advertised on TV for a week or two from this local Subway. My husband (86) without a list, brought home 2 12” Reuben subs smothered in jalapeños, black olives, green peppers, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cheese and who know what else, but NO SAUERKRAUT. Nice for some but I personally don’t eat black olives, jalapeños, tomatoes, green peppers or tomatoes. That was something my husband must have chosen...I called and spoke to a sweet young lady named Tristan. I explained what I wanted on my REUBEN. (catch word here) She said she’d help him and off he went to buy the 3rd sandwich, with my list.A REUBEN with lettuce, onions, extra 1000 Island on the side, another $8.00.. He got home and the sub was warm..that’s good..I bit into it..tasted great..OK..wait..NO SAUERKRAUT. 3 Reuben subs without SAUERKRAUT. I called again and ended up speaking to the evening manager, a somewhat rude brat, who didn’t know Reubens even had SAUERKRAUT on them until he worked for Subway. Oh dear. I asked if they had SAUERKRAUT on hand year around and was told NO, only when they had Reubens..hmm, I wonder why. A Reuben implies corned beef, SAUERKRAUT and cheese. But he begged to differ..some people didn’t like SAUERKRAUT so they never put it on unless they were told to..hmm. Strange to me. But I wasn’t asking for much..maybe comp me a $6.00 six inch sub seeing as I had just spent $24.00 and a gallon of gas in 2 round trips to fix the mess but the mess of the missing SAUERKRAUT wasn’t my husbands fault. That was SUBWAYS problem..he ended the conversation very rudely on THANKSGIVING EVE by talking over me and refusing to listen to anything more I had to say. Pretty much hung up on me which was beneficial to him because he wouldn’t have liked what I yelled into the dead receiver. What a rude, nasty, unprofessional, crummy, disrespectful way to treat people who patronize a business. But in a way I got what I paid for..a silly sub pretending to be a Reuben who didn’t even know what a Reuben was. Maybe that’s the upper managements problem. I enjoy Subway but I won’t be back at this one unless “employees” are trained in sandwich knowledge and professional customer relations.
I would like to be made aware of that one. I’ll change my review quickly if that ever happens.
