Last night we stopped at this Subway, and while the food was great, the staffing situation was unacceptable.
Alyssa was the only employee working, and she was doing everything by herself—taking orders, making sandwiches, handling the register, and helping a nonstop line of customers. She was incredibly kind, professional, and worked as fast as she possibly could. This review is NOT about her. She did an amazing job under impossible circumstances.
The real issue is management. This location is in a very busy area near Universal, yet there was only ONE employee working. We ended up waiting close to two hours, and you could see Alyssa was overwhelmed, even though she never stopped working. No one should be expected to handle that kind of workload alone.
What really surprised me is that after reading the Google reviews while we were waiting, I realized this isn’t a one-time issue. So many other customers have said the exact same thing—that there’s only one employee working during busy hours. If this has been happening repeatedly, management needs to address it.
The food was good, and Alyssa deserves recognition for staying positive and providing great customer service despite the circumstances. I hope management gives her the support she needs by scheduling enough staff. It’s unfair to the employees and frustrating for customers.
