We really enjoyed our visit to Madame Tussauds! Many of the wax figures are incredibly realistic and impressive. Of course, not every figure looks exactly like the real person, but overall the quality is very good, and it was a lot of fun taking photos with them.
The only disappointment was that the superhero area was closed for maintenance during our visit. My kids were really looking forward to it, so they were a bit disappointed.
The only part of the experience I didn’t enjoy was the photo sales at the exit. They handed us a printed, framed photo that had already been prepared and offered it for over $30. Unfortunately, the photo quality was quite poor—it was noticeably blurry, and in the photo they selected for us, my eyes were actually closed.
It felt like the photos are printed in advance in the hope that guests will feel awkward saying no after seeing the finished product. While I understand the sales approach, I simply couldn’t justify buying a photo of that quality. I also noticed that when guests declined to purchase, the printed photos were immediately removed from the frame and thrown away. Seeing so many perfectly good prints discarded felt like a significant waste of resources.
Overall, we still had a great time, and the wax figures themselves made the visit worthwhile.
