I was very disappointed with my experience at this Best Western. As soon as I entered my room, the air felt thick, warm, and humid, and there was a very strong mildew odor in the hallway leading to the room. I have severe allergies, and within minutes I began experiencing symptoms from the poor air quality.
When I checked the bathroom, I found hair in the bathtub along with visible traces that indicated it had not been cleaned thoroughly. This immediately raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room.
I immediately went back to the front desk to request a refund, but I was told I was in the room too long because their policy does not allow refunds after 10 minutes. My room was on the fourth floor, and between getting to the room, checking the bathroom, returning to my car, and waiting behind other guests in line at the front desk, it had been about 20 minutes. Applying a strict 10-minute policy in a situation involving cleanliness and potential health concerns felt unreasonable and unfair.
I do want to acknowledge that the front desk staff was kind and professional, and I appreciate the way they treated me personally. However, the hotel’s refund policy, combined with the condition of the room, left me feeling like my legitimate concerns were dismissed. A room with a strong mildew smell and cleanliness issues presents a health risk for guests with allergies or respiratory sensitivities.
Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be returning.
