Initially, I was assisted by a gentleman with somewhat reddish hair; the interaction began pleasantly enough. He informed me that UPS was not the appropriate service for my needs and suggested I go to the USPS instead. He explained that they could only offer a tracking number, but—as it happened—they did not even have the necessary labels for that at the time. I explained to him that I was sending legal documents and that a mere tracking number would not suffice. It was at that point that this gentleman became annoyed by my follow-up question—asked solely to ensure I understood whether or not this service would be suitable "for the next time I might need it." His response was not delivered in words; rather, he perfectly conveyed—through expressions of sheer displeasure on his face—everything a customer dreads encountering in poor customer service. Customers enter a business with the expectation of receiving service commensurate with the cost of using a provider like UPS; yet, regrettably, the experience ends in the shouting and frustration inevitably sparked by such a poor attitude. This individual belongs behind the scenes—folding boxes or loading trucks—but he should never be entrusted with safeguarding the owner's investment or the public image of UPS. I promised you a review, and here it is.
