Great if you're not doing any printing, or shipping anything. VERY overpriced! I had two packages one was 216 cubic inches and weighed 11.75 pounds; it cost $41.62 to ship including $400 in insurance coverage. The second package was 104 cubic inches, weighted 1.9 pounds and cost $50.18 with $100 of insurance coverage! You got that right, the package that was TWICE as big in cubic inches and SIX times heavier, cost 20% LESS to ship.
When I asked to have the manager double check to make sure it was calculated correctly, he gave me a nasty attitude (god forbid a manager should be asked to answer a reasonable question) and didn't review the calculation. He insisted that the more expensive package was larger in cubic inches .... it was NOT, the more expensive package was 104 cubic inches and 1/6 the weight; the larger package was 216 cubic inches.
The manager seemed incensed that I would even ask a question! Worse, on a past visit I was quoted a very high [unreasonable] price to ship a package and asked the manager to check the pricing. He found an error, corrected the error. The resulting price was significantly lower. Restated, there should not be a penalty [in terms of the way you're treated] for simply asking a question.
In fairness, I did interrupt the manager - he was in the midst of giving a long-winded explanation of a movie he had seen over the weekend to a female co-worker. Naturally, the customer's needs should take a back seat to this "pressing managerial task"!
Icing on the cake, when I put the information into the FedEx online shipping calculator (for the 104 cubic inch package), it was significantly less - like $40 instead of $50.18.
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE and I will avoid this FedEx Office Print & Ship Center in the future. Ultimately, it might make sense to write my political representatives to prevent this type of monopoly power in the future! The FedEx / Kinkos merger should have NEVER been allowed to happen. We need someone like Elizabeth Warren supervising these monopolies!
