I’ve always been a huge fan of Wingstop, which is why today’s experience was especially disappointing.
I placed my order online and, since I live nearby, I left as soon as I received the notification that my order was “being packed.” When I arrived, there were already a few customers waiting. I checked the order status screen, and both my order and another customer’s order were marked “Ready for Pickup.”
I approached the employee at the front counter, who simply asked for my name and walked to the back without telling me whether my order was actually ready. After waiting about 10 minutes, I asked again because the screen still showed my order as ready. I was then told it wasn’t ready, and the employee removed both my name and the other customer’s name from the screen.
While waiting, I noticed the store phone ringing continuously. Employees would answer the phone only to immediately hang up, causing it to ring over and over without anyone actually assisting the callers. It also became clear that my order had not even been started, as multiple DoorDash and Uber Eats drivers who arrived after me received their orders and left before I did. It appeared that delivery orders were being prioritized over customers who were physically waiting in the restaurant.
The dining area quickly filled with frustrated customers, many of whom were complaining about the excessive wait times. During all of this, one of the cooks—a taller gentleman working in the back—started playing loud Cuban music with explicit lyrics on a speaker. The volume was so high that customers in the front of the restaurant could barely hear each other, which only added to the unprofessional atmosphere.
The screenshot I attached shows the time I received the notification stating my order was “ready for pickup” and the time I finally walked out of the restaurant—41 minutes later. Throughout that time, I asked multiple times about my order and was repeatedly brushed off without any explanation or apology. Please visit your camera footage if you would like proof of my complaint.
To make matters worse, the food itself was disappointing. The fries were cold and stale, and the wings were under-seasoned and not cooked as well as they usually are.
This experience was unacceptable and far below the level of service I have come to expect from Wingstop. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location.
