I wanted to share my experience of TRYING to use a coupon at the University Avenue store. Let me start by saying that I have been to this store several times before with my son. He has used the app and has had a few problems with coupons, but has spoken up and gotten corrections to prices.
I came in with a coupon for a free 6-in sub, with the purchase of a drink. Before ordering, I asked if the coupon would be accepted and was told "yes". I proceeded to get my sub then present the coupon. The person behind the register scanned my coupon in front of me. Then gave me a price that was for the price of the sub and the drink. Granted, I did not know the cost of the drink, so I paid the full price. A minute later, after getting my drink, I realized that I was overcharged. So I went back to the cashier and expressed my concerns that the coupon would have taken off the price of the sandwich. The cashier, proceeded to tell me the cost of the sandwich and the drink and the total with no recognition that I had been overcharged. Again, he gave me the same price. I felt I was being double- talked, but didn't want to feel like I was being "cheap, so I left. I never got a refund. Yes, it is definitely was my responsibility to push the issue to get what I deserved, but sometimes the timing is not right. On the other hand, it shouldn't be that hard to have a coupon honored.....especially when I think I was being served by the the manager of the store (who I have seen many times before, for many years and at another location on SW 13th St, before it was closed).
Coupons should be an easy transaction!

I am deaf, and I have picked up food from this location many times without any problems. Yesterday, I ordered Subway through DoorDash for pickup for myself and my daughter. The app said my order would be ready at 9:33 PM.
When I arrived, I showed my phone to an employee and let her know that I am deaf. She checked for my order, but the food was not there. I only saw one Pepsi and no food but she gave me a receipt I typed on my phone asking where my food was. She told me that I had ordered delivery to my home, but I showed her on DoorDash that it was clearly a pickup order.
Instead of carefully reading the information I showed her, she became impatient and had an attitude. She did not try to help me figure out what happened to my order. Another employee, a man who has seen me there before, also did not offer any assistance or show concern about the situation.
Because no one was helping me, I called the police through a sign language interpreter. When the officers arrived, they reviewed my DoorDash order and confirmed that I was correct—it was a pickup order. The restaurant then had to remake the food for me and my daughter.
I was very disappointed by the lack of patience and communication. Deaf customers deserve the same respect and customer service as everyone else. I hope management provides better training so situations like this do not happen again. I am not go back there ever again!!

I love eating subs at Subway, because I can customize the sub to fit my vegan diet. The subway paid special attention to the directions on making the sub, even though the order was placed in the app. The service in Food were great.
