I stopped in before a mid-day meeting on Thursday to make an Amazon return. Unfortunately, my interaction with the owner, Lee, was highly unprofessional. When I asked for assistance with the new kiosk-based return process being implemented, his response came across as unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational.
To be clear, the staff members themselves have consistently been respectful and helpful during prior visits. My concern is specifically with the owner’s conduct.
I had originally removed a previous review after Lee responded with what felt like an intimidating counterattack intended to pressure my comment to be silenced. After reading through other customer reviews, however, I noticed a concerning pattern in the owner’s responses. Multiple negative reviews are met with personal attacks, accusations, threats to report reviews to Google, and repeated references to surveillance footage or posting videos of customers in the store.
In several responses posted directly from the owner show him calling customers “trolls,” “misogynistic,” or “arrogant,” rather than their concerns being addressed professionally. Seeing similar reactions directed at other customers reinforced that my experience was not isolated.
As a Safety Harbor resident, I believe it is important to share honest and factual experiences with local businesses. While I value supporting small businesses in our community, professionalism and respectful customer interactions matter. Based on my experience and the pattern reflected in about 20% of the store’s 1-star reviews, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
