I had several uncomfortable interactions at this store over the course of a few months, and after giving it multiple chances, I feel it’s important to share my experience.
My first interaction with the manager happened when I stopped in simply to share information about the Roadie app a delivery service that could help stores increase sales and better serve customers. I was trying to be helpful and offer a business tip. Instead of being open or even politely listening, he gave me a strange, dismissive look and an unfriendly attitude that made me feel brushed off and unwelcome.
A couple of months later, I returned for a separate reason involving light bulbs. My mechanic had installed the wrong ones, so I came in to exchange them. When I brought the incorrect bulbs back, the same manager again spoke to me in a cold, irritated tone and looked at me like I was a problem. I was simply trying to correct a purchase.
While I was there that day, I also noticed him speaking to another customer a Black woman with a similarly harsh, condescending attitude. It didn’t feel like normal customer service; it felt condescending & unnecessarily dismissive.
He asked for the bulbs back, so a week later I returned with them. As soon as he saw me walk in, he quickly went behind the counter and again acted short and unfriendly. He asked why I didn’t need the bulbs, and I reminded him that he had requested them back. He told me to go get my card for the refund. I went back to my car, got it, received my refund (over $60), and left feeling completely unwelcome.
What makes this more disappointing is that this is the store manager. Leadership sets the tone for customer service, and this pattern of behavior over multiple visits left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I’ve also noticed that when negative reviews are posted here, the responses come across as dismissive rather than genuinely concerned about customer experience.
After several interactions like this, I won’t be returning. Also they had a Spanish woman working there and now all the employees are white NO SURPRISE THERE. I hope upper management takes a closer look at this RACIST MANAGER, mostly importantly how customers are being treated at this location.
