I’ve been to this location a few times. I actually prefer the Lakeland location on Cleveland Heights, but this one is closer to my house, so I stopped in tonight to grab dinner.
Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. The bread on my sandwich was so dry that I could barely bite into it. It was like trying to tear apart a well-done steak with my teeth. This loaf should have been thrown away instead of being served to a customer.
I also had an unpleasant interaction while my sandwich was being made. I previously managed a Subway, so I’m familiar with how the sandwiches are assembled. The employee was placing the cheese in a way that prevented the vegetables from fitting properly. When I politely asked if the sandwich could be folded correctly so I could continue adding my toppings, she sighed and appeared frustrated with my request.
Despite that, I remained polite throughout the interaction, said please and thank you, and even left a 20% tip. When my order was bagged, neither sandwich was labeled, so I had to ask which was which. The other employee was very kind, labeled the sandwich for me, asked if I wanted the second one marked as well, and was pleasant throughout the transaction. I even complimented her nails before leaving because she was genuinely friendly.
I understand that everyone has off days, and that’s why I didn’t make a scene in the store. However, getting home after a long day of work only to discover that my dinner was essentially inedible because of the stale bread was extremely frustrating.
I hope management addresses both the quality of the bread being served and the customer service issues, because I’ve had much better experiences at other Subway locations.
