I’ve been visiting the UPS Store next to the Food Lion in Smyrna, just off Route 13, since it opened and the couple who run it (I’m pretty sure they’re the franchisees/owners) are always so nice, polite, and helpful. Even when they seem clearly exhausted, they still greet you with a warm smile and a friendly hello every time you walk in. However, the gentleman went above and beyond in his customer service yesterday (6/8/26) when I came in with a pair of glasses I needed to ship but didn’t have a box for. He found the perfect small box, taped it together, and carefully packed my glasses inside.
When I handed him the pre-paid shipping label, he glanced at it, pointed, and said, “Post Office.” Not really paying attention, I smiled, nodded, and replied, “Okay, thank you.” He gave me a brief look but took the box, rang up my total for the box, gave me my change, and put the box on the table behind him with other packages. I again said, "thank you" and left.
Later that evening, while clearing out my email inbox, I noticed on the copy of the shipping label that it said, "USPS Ground Advantage" instead of UPS. No wonder he gave me a puzzled look when I responded with, "Okay, thank you" when he said Post Office.
Fortunately, it turned out he had simply placed my box with his business USPS mail and handed it to the postman during his pickup.
Great location, phenomenal customer service, and super nice franchisees/owners.
