We visited this Subway inside Walmart on a Sunday evening around 4:30 PM for dinner. When we arrived, there was already one customer waiting ahead of us, and there was only one employee working, a younger male employee who appeared to be handling everything by himself.
As soon as the previous customer finished paying, the employee came over, saw multiple customers waiting in line, and informed us that he needed to complete online orders first. While I understand online orders need to be completed, it was frustrating standing there waiting while several sandwiches were prepared before the customers already in the store could even order.
About 10 minutes after walking in, it was finally our turn. During ordering we found out they were out of multiple items, which was disappointing, especially considering there were still several hours until closing. The employee explained that he was the only person working and that they were out of quite a few ingredients.
Unfortunately, the experience did not improve once we got home. The sandwiches were disappointing overall. There was very little sauce, and the bread seemed old because it was extremely dry, hard, and crumbled apart while eating.
I do feel for the employee because it seemed like he was doing the best he could while working alone, but the combination of understaffing, missing ingredients, wait time, and food quality made for a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I do not think we will be returning to this location.
