⭐️ Dinuba Blvd Cricket Wireless – Very disappointing experience
We went into the Cricket store on Dinuba Blvd in Visalia because we were trying to figure out whether it would be better to add another line to our existing account (which would have been our 6th line) or start a new account using the free phone promotion.
The employee told us it would be better to start a new account, but repeatedly insisted that the total would be $180 out the door, including the free phone, first month of service, activation, and taxes. That seemed extremely high to us, especially since we have added lines/services before for significantly less. The employee wasn’t particularly approachable or helpful and continued insisting that $180 was the correct amount, so we decided not to move forward and went to another Cricket location.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t our first questionable experience at this location. On a previous visit, we went there to make a payment and were charged an additional $10 payment fee, while other Cricket stores we have used normally charge $5. At the time we thought it was strange, but after this most recent experience, it definitely raised more concerns.
We then went to the Cricket store on Mooney Blvd next to Carl’s Jr., which is normally the location we use. We spoke with Aleena and asked her the exact same questions. She explained that because the family plan is limited to 5 lines, starting a new service would be the better option. However, she told us the total should be around $105, not $180.
She also confirmed that Cricket stores should have the same pricing and that the payment fee should have only been $5.
Aleena helped us set up the new line using the same free phone promotion, and our actual total was only $97, including activation, the first month of service, and taxes.
That is a $83 difference from what the Dinuba Blvd location insisted we would have to pay.
We are extremely glad we went to another location before agreeing to anything. The Mooney Blvd store was helpful, professional, and actually explained our options. We will continue going there even though the Dinuba Blvd location is closer to us.
Based on our experiences, I would strongly recommend going to another Cricket location rather than this one. The pricing we were quoted and the payment fee we were previously charged simply did not match what another Cricket store charged us for the exact same type of service.
