I have lived in this city for over twenty-five years. Recently, due to work requirements, I have had to make frequent trips to the UPS store located not far from my home—which happens to be the only UPS store in the entire city. Prior to this, to meet our company's business needs, our office had purchased a supply of UPS envelopes. However, we later realized that we would never use them all; consequently, my boss instructed me to return the unused envelopes the next time I went in to ship a package. Today, while shipping a package, I took the opportunity to return those envelopes. I placed the envelopes on the shelf designated for displaying them, and just as I was turning to leave, something unexpected happened: a sharp, piercing shout suddenly rang out behind me. A bald Asian man yelled at me, "What is that?!" I turn around, take the envelopes off the shelf to show him, and explain, "These are brand-new envelopes; we didn't end up using them, so I was just returning them." He responded with an extremely hostile attitude, shouting back, "Hand them over to me!" His sudden outburst truly startled me; one of his male colleagues, who was working nearby at the time, looked on in wide-eyed astonishment. In that moment, I felt overwhelmed by a deep sense of injustice and embarrassment. Upon returning home, I recounted this experience to my husband, who said, "Oh, that bald guy? I’ve dealt with him before, too. That guy’s attitude is absolutely atrocious." Solely because of this one individual, I have decided that I will no longer patronize this particular UPS store—despite the fact that it is just a stone's throw from my home and incredibly convenient. In this city, which is otherwise supposed to be a lovely and pleasant place, this man is undoubtedly the worst person I have ever encountered. I will never forget his rudeness and lack of civility. It was a truly terrible experience.
