Scamming Coustmer / fraud
Ask for the breakdown before you buy anything
I am extremely frustrated with my experience at this store . I went there simply to switch my service and buy iPhone 16e devices, but it felt like the staff was trying to scam and squeeze every possible dollar out of their coustmers instead of being honest and transparent.
I was quoted $976 for 4-iPhone 16e it should cost less than 500$ for switching for my carrier and immediately asked for a breakdown because the number didn’t make sense. They said
• $253 in taxes
• $130 for the plan
• $44 for eSIM fees ($11 per phone) - for 44$ to activate eSIM seriously ??
• $100 for activation fees ($25 per phone)
• $48 for insurance ($12 per phone)
• $100 for accessories
The manager itself a lier told me that I had to buy at least $100 worth of accessories or the system would not allow them to sell me the phones. That sounds ridiculous. Since when are accessories mandatory to purchase a phone?
I didn’t want the accessories, I didn’t want the insurance, and I still don’t understand why I was being charged for eSIMs., $300 in extra charges that nobody could explain. The time I asked where that money was going, I got the same answer: “That’s what the system shows.”
No explanation. No transparency. No accountability.
I wasted nearly an hour of my time trying to get a straight answer from the salesperson and the manager. Instead of helping me understand the charges, they kept pushing the sale and avoiding my questions.
If you’re shopping at Cricket and at this store , ask for a complete itemized breakdown before agreeing to anything. Review every charge carefully and don’t let anyone pressure you into buying accessories or services you don’t want.
I walked in ready to switch my service and buy phones. I walked out frustrated, disappointed, and with nothing.
