I typically don’t give fast food spots 5/5 stars, just because it’s hard to justify in the context of everything I’ve reviewed food-wise. On top of that, I haven’t been to a Subway in years, and usually clown on it for being a pretty sad sub sandwich experience. However, I was totally surprised by my experience at this location, which I’ve somehow never been inside of although I go to the gym next door.
The interior and the sandwich preparation area were both immaculately clean. It was absolutely spotless in here, which isn’t my typical Subway experience. The guy working was really genuinely nice too and we had a good interaction.
It turned out that the sub I wanted — oven-roasted turkey — was the daily special, so I was able to get a footlong for $7. I got it on wheat with everything plus mustard and salt & pepper. The sandwich tasted truly fresh, which isn’t also outside of my remembered experience from Subway visits of yesteryear.
Overall, really top-notch Subway location that actually earns 5/5 stars in the context of fast food.

My friend and I have been going to this Subway every week or so for a couple of years. We've often commented to each other how unfriendly the counter staff are, and that they appear to be unhappy. All seem unhappy, but the worst is the women that wears glasses that are often down a bit on her nose so she can see over them. She was so rude on our last visit that we decided not to buy subs there again until she is gone. Apparently the employee selection criteria and training do not include friendliness or customer relations. After the many, many times we've been in there, the staff act like they've never seen us before. Most of the time not even a Hi or a smile. If it was my store, the staff would have name tags, and would be required to greet every customer and interact in a simple friendly way with the customers. The best example of this approach that I can think of is the Crown Ace Hardware store in Clairemont Square. As soon as a person walks through the door, the counter person or another staff person nearby will say "Welcome to Ace" in a nice clear friendly voice. They have name tags, so I've learned some of their names, and will greet them by name. I always feel welcome there. I never feel particularly welcome at the Clairemont Square Subway. It will be a bit inconvenient, but we'll be buying our subs elsewhere until the situation changes for the better. We'll stop in every once in a while to check it out, since that location is the most convenient for us.
The bread is exceptional!! Thank you for the delicious sub
