Let me first say... I love(d) this UPS store, there is young lady and young man who are typically there when I go there. And even though it is further from my house, I go to that store because of the amazing service i always receive from these two.
Now...today pushed me to my limit though...my interaction with the person (female) that "called herself" manager (or maybe owner). Waiting is never an issue for me...I understand it, and am ok with it- I get it. But this lady was alone with a line of at least 5-6 people- that was ok, even though she did not greet, look up or even acknowledge that so many were waiting.
My transaction was a simple one... a simple return, from TikTok... Now this is where the problem and attitude started. Even though I have returned dozens of items from TikTok at this store, never was I told this... "you have to package your item and pay for your label". So to my surprise, when i asked why- I was told "you'll have to buy one if you want to ship from here". So I questioned her and then asked if she had an envelop I could use and she said, you have to buy one! And...then you have to pay for label. if she said it once she said 5-6 times, and she was adamant about it. We went went back and forth about it as I tried to show her and explain that this item did not require a package, I even read it out loud to her- and she flat out refused to look at my return instructions and insisted many times I have to pay!
Now this exchange had other nuances to her behavior, but I will omit them- because it went on just too long, and not pretty. And yes, I was irritated but only becasue I was so frustrated that she would not even bother to look at my return instructions, she just flat our refused and ignored me. The exchange we had went on, and she kept saying the same thing over again.. and then finally said she was not going to argue with me anymore. So what did I do...I bought an envelop for 4.99 plus tax = 6.00, packaged the item and she placed the label that she told me I also had to pay for on it.
All this went on with a line of people observing, I was mortified and so irriated with her and her resistence to even look at the return instructions. I will attach it to this post- along with the receipt for the item she forced to buy maybe someone will look at it and find some justice. In my opinion, this lady forced me to buy an envelop I didnt need and then went on about how "she processes things like this every day and knows what she is doing...she's the manager". I know this- no one knows what's going on anyone's life or what kind of day they had- I understand that too. but this was just too much to overlook. In a high customer facing role the behavior like I witnessed could have been avoided, but instead she just dug in and made up her mind that no matter what I tried to say or show her she wanted no part of it. And just so you know, i tried my best to communicate with this person and make my case- but eventually my patience ran out.
My UPS receipt that shows the $6.00 your employee basically forced me spend- is attached. I am sure you can tell who it was and the date/time of the transaction. Honestly, I cannot believe I put effort into writing this- but that "lady" needs to know what she did was wrong on so many fronts.
