I came in to pick up my online order, but it had not been started yet. As I watched the sandwich get made, I noticed she was not toasting the bread. Once I saw her add avocado, I asked if she could toast the bread. I stated I requested toasting in the special instructions because toast was not an option when ordering.
She immediately and visibly got upset, argued that the note was not listed, and then became condescending when I asked again if she could toast it. Because of her rude response, I requested a refund.
She was upset by this and, even though this was my first face-to-face interaction with her since I normally order online, she stated I had complained three times. This was incorrect.
Back on 4/24/26, I placed an online order where special instructions again requested toast, but it was not done. I requested a refund at that time as well due to the attitude of the employee on the phone. At the time, I did not realize the woman on the phone was the same person I dealt with today.
I asked for a receipt confirming the refund, but she refused to provide anything, including her name, even though she claimed to be the manager. I asked for her name so I could reference her if there was an issue with my refund. She is approximately 5 feet tall, Hispanic, with dyed red hair, and again claims to be the manager.
I have now filed a complaint with Subway and am looking for the franchise owner information to escalate further. I will not be returning here. I may only be one customer, but I will be sure to share this experience with my coworkers and others in the community.
