I used this UPS Store to ship all of my belongings from Oakland, CA to North Carolina (Relocation) including suitcases, plastic containers, and boxes. At the time of drop-off, VK and Luna were very friendly and even recommended that I purchase additional insurance due to the value of my items, which I did.
However, when my shipment arrived, several items inside my suitcases were broken. Some of the suitcases themselves were also damaged, and I discovered that during transit they had been repacked into boxes. Unfortunately, this resulted in some of my belongings going missing.
When I contacted the store, they offered to file claims on my behalf, saying they had experience with the process. I trusted them to handle it properly. It has now been over four months, and more than three claims have been filed, yet all of them have been denied. The store has not taken responsibility for the damage or the lost items.
On top of that, communication has been extremely poor. I receive no updates unless I call them myself, and there has been no proactive follow-up from their side. VK who is the store manager hasn't sent me any email, and Luna, who is the person that has been (if I can say that) handling my claims, hasn't been responsive at all.
I paid thousands of dollars for shipping and several hundred more for insurance, expecting my belongings to arrive safely and to be covered in case of issues. Instead, I received damaged items, lost property, and no meaningful support.
This has been a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this location if you expect reliable customer service.
