I had a very disappointing experience at this UPS Store location and feel it needs to be addressed.
I brought in a small framed photo (under 10 lbs) to ship from Napa to Chicago and was charged $344 total, including $242 for shipping alone. At no point was I informed that the box size would significantly increase the cost due to dimensional weight, nor was I offered any lower-cost alternatives. There was a complete lack of transparency, and I was not given the opportunity to make an informed decision.
Ashley, who assisted me, was also rude and unhelpful throughout the process, which only added to the frustration.
To make matters worse, I shipped the package on April 2nd and still have not received it, despite paying a premium for the service. The first delivery attempt was also missed, even though it was going to a doorman building that routinely accepts packages.
I understand that shipping costs can vary, but this experience felt excessive and poorly handled. At a minimum, I would expect clearer communication, reasonable pricing transparency, and a basic level of customer service.
I would appreciate this being reviewed by store management or corporate, as the pricing, service, and overall experience did not meet reasonable expectations.
