I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had at Subway. We ordered a footlong Spicy Italian on Italian Herbs & Cheese, a footlong Meatball and Pepperoni on Italian Herbs & Cheese, a footlong Tuna on Multigrain, and a footlong Grilled Chicken with avocado with bacon on Multigrain. Every single sandwich we received had bread that was completely burnt — not slightly toasted, but extremely burnt to the point it ruined the sandwiches. (My boys still tried to eat them because they were hungry but we couldn’t stomach it.)
When we brought it up to the employee working, she told us the bread wasn’t fresh and that it was what was left from yesterday. Her response was, “Sorry, nothing I can do, I’m the only one here.” Instead of offering a solution or making fresh bread, she still served the sandwiches on burnt bread.
After checking our receipt, we also realized we were charged for multiple items that were missing from the sandwiches. On top of that, the soda machine had no ice, so the drinks were warm.
What made the situation even worse was that we had to wait while she helped multiple other customers before addressing the issue. When she finally called the manager, she told them she didn’t know why we were upset because it “wasn’t her fault the bread was burnt,” that there was no ice, and that she had “barely forgotten some of the toppings.” Hearing that said about customers right in front of us was extremely unprofessional.
While we are finally getting a refund, it was also disappointing to hear that they initially wanted to only refund the cheapest sandwiches instead of taking responsibility for the entire order.
We picked this food up for a fishing trip and expected a quick, decent meal. Instead, we were served burnt food, missing ingredients, warm drinks, and very poor customer service. It’s unacceptable that a restaurant would knowingly serve burnt bread from the previous day and still charge full price while not even putting all the toppings on the sandwiches properly.
We usually enjoy Subway, but this experience was extremely disappointing and handled very unprofessionally. Based on this visit, we would not recommend this location.
We stopped by at 12:15pm, right around lunch and there was only one customer before us. When we got there, we were told there was only 1.5 bread left and no more was being made for the day. I wanted to order 2 footlongs but settled for the 1.5 bread. There were more customers behind me and they were told there was no bread left. They were upset and left but said this location is always out of things and closing early all the time. When those customers left, I saw more bread being pulled out in the back. I was told that they are closing at 2pm, which is the reason they no longer have bread...mind you, it was only 12:15pm. When it came time for my sandwiches, majority of items were gone such as spinach, tomatoes, cucumber...so all i got was browned lettuce. This was a disappointing visit.
