Well I had to stay at a hotel because my apartment was being fumigated, my roommates paid for my hotel stay which was nice, definitely no complaints there but, I wish they would have read the reviews and read what people's experiences have been like at this hotel. My experience was terrible and I will never stay here again. I stayed Tuesday night and Wednesday night, I worked all day in West Oakland so I only stayed at night but from my 1st night, when I went to use the bathroom and take a shower, I saw a couple weird looking bugs, killed them right away but then made me paranoid and I struggled to sleep, heard a lot of doors slamming, 1st night was rough. Night 2 was better but then Thursday morning when I went to use the bathroom, I discovered a cockroach, 🤢, absolutely disgusting! They have known about these complaints for over year from reading reviews, they just apologize but they don't do anything to fix and solve the problems and issues. It's becoming a major problem, not to mention health issue especially after reading about the dead rat in the pool incident. Oh and I saw one of the bugs on the floor in the main room, dead, I took a picture of it, it looked like a bed bug and from reading reviews, other people have experienced these same bugs, not good, makes me itchy just talking about it. I have never had this issue at any of the other best westerns I have stayed at, this is unacceptable, please do better. Stop letting homeless people stay there, that's probably why they have a major bug problem, I do not recommend while they are still under this management staying here, definitely important to please pay attention to the reviews before you book. The only pros were that the AC was really good, kept the room nice and cool and the lady at the front desk was super nice, and that's about it. The curtains are super outdated, I liked the pictures on the wall but yeah definitely needs some upgrades, some TLC and probably a fumigation.Don't just apologize, do something about it, thank you. 🙏
During our stay at the Best Western Plus we found cockroaches in the room. We reported this to the staff immediately, but no action was taken.
After check-out we realised we had left a jacket behind. When we called the hotel, staff told us nothing was found in the room.
Both the unresolved pest problem and the handling of our lost item were completely unacceptable. We will never stay at this Best Western Plus again and cannot recommend it to anyone.
This is by far the worst Best Western hotel I have ever been in. Front desk was rude, she never left her chair to welcome us and other guests. It also looked like the security guard was asleep with his legs propped up in the chair.
As my GF and I entered building C, trash was stack along the gate entrance. Inside room 139, there was a leak on the floor, small cockroaches crawling inside walls, mosquitos got in the room, bathroom tub and walls had mold and one of the batroom light was out. I didn't want to talk to the front desk, as I am sure I will get ignored.
My girlfriend went to breakfast, she wanted to grab food and bring it back to our room. She was stopped by the cook and front desk, was told she needed to eat there. This was uncalled for and harrassing. We are paid customers and deserve to be treated better.
Fortunately, my GF is the nicer human and asked that I don't tell them off and just give the review. So here it is.
DO NOT STAY HERE, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
Serious card-security concern after my stay
I stayed at the Best Western Plus Garden Court Inn in Fremont on July 14 and used a newly issued credit card to pay for two rooms before hip surgery at Washington Hospital.
Afterward, I was in Mission Valley Post Acute Care and did not use that card for any further purchases. On July 29, I began receiving a large subscription-bombing attack—thousands of unwanted sign-up emails—and then discovered an unauthorized approximately $800 Best Buy phone purchase, with delivery to an address roughly 60 miles from my home.
I immediately contacted my card issuer, stopped the card, and disputed the charge. I cannot determine how the card information was compromised, but this hotel transaction was the last purchase I made on that card before the fraud.
I contacted the hotel to report this serious concern and did not feel that it was handled professionally. I recommend that management review its payment-security procedures and that guests monitor their accounts closely after staying here.

Update in response to management: Your response does not address the concern I reported. Use of a PCI-compliant third-party processor and the fact that the hotel does not store card numbers do not rule out a compromised card terminal, unauthorized access, or another payment-process failure associated with the property.
This was a newly issued card, used at the hotel on July 14 for two rooms and not used afterward while I was in post-acute care after surgery. On July 29, there was an unauthorized approximately $800 Best Buy phone purchase, along with thousands of unwanted subscription emails that made legitimate fraud notices harder to find.
The hotel was the card’s last point of use before the fraud. A serious response would explain whether management preserved payment records, inspected the terminals used that day for tampering, reviewed relevant access and transaction records, and alerted its payment processor or acquiring bank. Instead, management dismissed the possibility without saying that it took any of those steps. Guests should monitor their card accounts carefully after staying here.

I got two non smoking rooms last Saturday and they were horrible !! Hallways and room smelled so bad like cigarettes including the hallway . Went to the front desk to ask for new rooms and that lady had a ugly attitude when I complained .she told me she can spray the rooms , spraying the room was not going to make the smell go away the moment I walked in the room it gave me a headache! The other room had poop stains in the toilet , mold on the ceiling & a big hole as well . Also no towels at the pool area when to ask for towels and said it would take about 20 minutes to bring some out and only brought out 4 towels when there was like 20 people at the pool area.
