I had an extremely upsetting and disrespectful experience at this Wingstop location on Elk Grove Florin Rd, and I will not be returning.
I originally ordered and paid for a 10-piece all flats, but when I got home, my order had both drums and flats. I called the store and explained what happened. The employee told me to bring the food back, but I explained that I lived far away and did not want to drive all the way back because of a mistake the restaurant made. I was then told that I would receive a refund. That refund never came.
When I returned to the store to address the issue, I was asked for my receipt. I explained that I no longer had the physical receipt but could pull up the transaction in my payment history to prove my purchase. Instead of trying to help me resolve the situation, the manager who was wearing glasses was extremely rude and dismissive. He flung/waved his hand in my face, told me he didn’t care, said he wasn’t going to help me, and even accused me of lying.
The way I was spoken to and treated was completely unacceptable. As a Black American customer, the interaction made me feel discriminated against and racially targeted, especially because of how hostile and dismissive the manager became instead of simply trying to verify my purchase and resolve the issue.
I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. I paid for a specific order, received the wrong food, was promised a refund that I never received, and then was treated disrespectfully when I came back to address it.
Management/corporate needs to look into how customers are being treated at this location. No customer should be waved off, called a liar, or made to feel discriminated against simply for asking a business to correct an order they paid for. I will also be contacting Wingstop corporate regarding this experience.
