I have never been racist toward anyone. However, yesterday—Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM—a young woman of Middle Eastern descent, wearing a hijab, treated me very poorly and provoked me. I had come to pick up food for my sick sister. I asked her, "Excuse me, could you please assist me?" She refused, telling me instead to place my order using the automated kiosk. I was extremely tired, my family was waiting for the food, the weather was hot, and I had just spent half an hour driving. Yet, she simply did not care. This is her job—nothing more—and she is obligated to treat customers with respect. This is not Afghanistan or Syria; this is America.
