I went into the South Coast Plaza store today as I had to return to pick up a cleaning kit that was excluded from my purchase I picked up in September (that I ordered in store with Cameron (this review does not apply to Cameron, she’s amazing and super sweet, or the security staff as they all are super sweet and treat you like a guest by offering drinks while you wait)). When I explained why I had come back for such a trivial item a woman who was sent to assist me, Eunice, rushed me as if I wasn’t worth her time. I came back to this location a third time even after calling and confirming that they could give me the cleaning kit, I was not given with my purchase of a 5 motif onyx Alhambra. When I explained I wasn’t given it initially she came up with a completely false reason and stated it was because of California and “chemicals.” This was not the reason given when I called corporate and even the store itself literally hours before I came in. This was a blatant lie to try and diminish the error made by the store and gaslight me. This was another unpleasant experience, which differed completely from my initial experience of purchasing the item.
My second experience with a male associate was when I picked up my purchase in store left a lot to be desired as I was told the sizing cannot be made bigger, as I literally sat to receive my item. I was shocked as I was there to pickup my purchase I made in store weeks ahead. I had to explain I have already tried on one and it fits. I appear larger as I cover myself for religious purposes, but not large enough to warrant this comment. The bracelet is 7 inches a normal size wrist can fit this easily and I am not out of that realm. I believe because of this almost discriminatory approach I was excluded from receiving all items necessary for my purchase.
After my second experience at the store I felt a bit upset, but I give most places three tries in case it was an off day for someone and because I initially had such a great experience.
Everyone else I have dealt with in the store have been pleasant, but for some reason associates that help after purchases are made are lacking simple, kind manners and basic understanding with clients. I would also like to add that I was not asked if I would like my bracelet cleaned at all for today’s visit for my kit, even my regular jeweler asks regardless even if I’m not buying anything new, considering I went out of my way to pick up an item that is included with purchases I at least expected to be asked if I wanted this complimentary service. This turns me off the company as I cannot believe a “luxury” jewelry house would allow such things to pass in any sort of capacity or training.
