I’ve stayed at the Best Western Chula Vista/Otay many times, and every stay has been a great experience. The rooms are always clean, fresh, and smell amazing. Angel at the front desk is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. He’s always so friendly, welcoming, and willing to help with anything. He really makes every stay comfortable and enjoyable.
I spend a lot of my weekends here, and I’ve always felt safe and well taken care of. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable hotel with excellent customer service, I highly recommend the Best Western Chula Vista/Otay. Thank you, Angel, for always making guests feel at home

We were planning on staying here for a weekend from Vegas. On our way, I realized I never looked at what the outside looked like and that honestly should’ve been the LEAST of my worries. Let’s start with the fact that this hotel is within a few hundred feet from a gas station. Like you have to drive through the gas station to get to this hotel (first red flag). We were getting in pretty late so I called ahead letting them know it would be a late check in and Angel was amazing at accommodating that. He let me know that he noted it would be a late arrival and that would confirm the booking for us. We arrive to the hotel and the lobby was very nice. Clean and welcoming. Looking back, this is an example of “looks can be deceiving”.We got assigned to a room and when we got to the room, the first thing we were hit with was a smell of pee and old hotel room. We had just driven 4 hours straight so I was tired so my husband took a look around the room while I changed and got ready for bed and I’m so glad he did this. We found mold in the bathroom, a dirty bath tub, rust around the tub, a dirty chair, dirty walls, chipped paint, the AC unit was NASTY, etc. We just couldn’t do it. IT WAS DISGUSTING!!!! It genuinely felt like we booked a motel! Also wanting to note the housekeeping only comes ever 3 days. Like the pictures just show what was wrong. We went down to the lobby, asked for a refund and drove 20 minutes to a Hilton.

We received exceptional customer service from the night manager Angel. He caught up with us to let me know my son left his “bunny” behind - truly an epic save and knighthood material in my book - and earlier in our stay he made it very easy to change rooms when we identified a small issue, making our stay much more comfortable. He was also super on point about us being Best Western members. Room would benefit from warmer colored lightbulbs and a low coffee table for in room downtime, playing and and toddler meals since we chose this place due to its proximity to Sesame Place.
Arrived to this location from Vegas, so was pretty worn out from the drive. The staff was friendly and efficient. However, when we got to our room, the bed sheets was so thin I could see the blood stain on the mattress. Wasn't pleased to say. Went to get another room. The 2nd room I found blood stain on my pillow case. Definitely wont be coming back here.

Tuve una pésima experiencia desde el primer minuto, nos atendió una persona que nos trató horrible, amenazó con cancelarnos la reservación porque quería que le dijéramos nuestro pin para la tarjeta de crédito para la garantía, solo porque ya veníamos Super cansados y porque ya lo habíamos pagado desde antes no lo cancelamos, la peor experiencia que me ha tocado, adicional al llevar al cuarto la habitación estaba abierta, le faltaban toallas , NO LO RECOMIENDO PARA NADA , PÉSIMO SERVICIO Y ATENCION AL CLIENTE
