Disappointing experience. I came in to drop off a package and asked for a receipt. Instead of helping me, the employee told me to scan it myself at the kiosk. When I asked if she could just scan it for me, she said, ‘We can, but we prefer you do it at the kiosk.’
This is the part I don’t get. If customers are expected to do everything themselves, why are employees standing around at the counter? At my own job, when a customer asks me something, it’s my job to help them — not redirect them to a machine. We pay for this service. If self-checkout is the new standard, just put the kiosks out and send the staff home. Otherwise, do the bare minimum and help the customer who is standing in front of you.
