Update: After posting my original review, I contacted the owner as he requested in his reply. I hoped the conversation would be different than the one I had with his employee, but unfortunately it was not. He first asked if I still wanted my mailbox, and I told him no. He then said he reviewed the security footage and mentioned that I used inappropriate language. I acknowledged that at the end of the interaction I did use the F-word out of frustration.
I asked him if, after reviewing the footage, he also saw the first part of the interaction where his employee told me my medication had been returned, which was not true since it was apparently still there. He responded by saying that I had told the employee to return it. I explained that yes, I said that only after being told it had already been returned, because at that point I no longer knew what to believe after being given conflicting information.
He then asked what I wanted from the call. I told him nothing—I was simply reaching out because he asked me to. He ended the conversation by saying our business was done. I agreed and told him I thought the conversation would have gone differently, but I guess not.
Original Post: I’ve had a mailbox at this UPS Store for about two years, and unfortunately it has been one issue after another—especially when it comes to my medication deliveries that need to stay refrigerated. I’ve tried to be patient and work through the problems, but this last experience crossed the line.
I forgot to pay my box fee on time, and that was my mistake. I went into town to take care of it and expected to simply pay and pick up my medication. Instead, the supervisor, Tony, told me he had already returned my medication. Then he changed his story, which made the whole situation even more frustrating and confusing.
What upset me the most was how I was treated in front of other customers. He loudly said I needed to “pay my bills,” clearly trying to shame and embarrass me in front of everyone there. No one should be spoken to like that while trying to resolve an issue.
Medication is serious, especially when it can already be difficult to get in Yuma. There is a respectful way to handle customer service issues, and this was not it. I only used this location because it was close to my work, but after this experience, I would strongly recommend others look elsewhere.
