I’m a regular customer at this Subway and usually place mobile app orders for quick pickup. Unfortunately, this location gets my order wrong pretty often, which is why I always check my sandwich before leaving. If something’s wrong, I simply ask for it to be corrected since I paid for the order as requested.
Today’s experience was especially frustrating because it wasn’t just about the sandwich, it was the way the staff handled it.
I ordered my sandwich on Cheddar Herb bread, but when I checked it, they used wheat bread instead. The first thing I asked was whether they had the bread I ordered, and they told me yes. I even asked if I could bring the sandwich back so they could remake it correctly, and they agreed.
But when I came back with the sandwich, they suddenly told me the bread “wasn’t ready yet.” That made no sense because they had already told me they had it. At that point, I asked if they could just remake it once the bread was ready, and they refused.
What really bothered me was when one of the employees said, “You complain a lot.” That was completely unprofessional. I wasn’t rude or asking for anything unreasonable, I just wanted the sandwich I ordered and paid for.
The situation became so frustrating that I just left with a sandwich I didn’t even want. Later, I tried calling to speak with a manager and were told there wasn’t one available.
This could have been handled so much better. If they were out of the bread, they should’ve communicated that upfront and asked what substitution I wanted instead of just making the sandwich incorrectly. And if the bread was going to be ready soon, waiting a few minutes to remake it should not have been an issue.
Based on repeated order issues and this interaction, I think leadership should take a closer look at this location and how customer service is being handled. This experience is why I’m leaving a one-star review and I should be get a voucher for a free sandwich
