I would not recommend Allstate homeowners insurance to anyone.
After a severe rain and thunderstorm, my roof failed and my bedroom ceiling collapsed, causing damage throughout the room. When the adjuster came out, I was told the roof itself would not be covered, but that the damage to the contents inside my home would be. Based on that information, I spent my time taking photos, documenting every damaged item, and submitting everything they requested.
Then Allstate came back and denied the personal property claim, citing a policy clause that says if the roof damage isn’t covered, the damage to the contents isn’t covered either.
If that was always going to be their position, why have me go through all the work of documenting everything and giving me the impression the items would be covered? It felt like they wasted my time and gave me false hope instead of being upfront from the beginning.
When you pay homeowners insurance premiums, you expect honesty, transparency, and support when disaster strikes. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Allstate.
In my opinion, you’re definitely not “in good hands.” Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for homeowners insurance.
