Due to a flight disruption, we unexpectedly ended up at B&B HOTEL Rümlang with our children after an extremely stressful day. Thankfully, the warm and attentive service completely turned things around! A special thank you to Jasmin, who was incredibly friendly, patient and empathetic. When the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working, she immediately understood our situation and arranged a room change without any hassle. Professional, caring and genuinely kind – she truly made a difficult day so much better! The dinner catering was excellent – absolutely delicious food and outstanding service. Breakfast was also fresh, well stocked and offered a good selection. Despite the circumstances, we felt very well taken care of and can definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you to Jasmin and the entire team.

WE GOT CATFISHED. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Well, well, well. It seems the reviews are fake, the room photos are fake, and judging by the state of our room, I’m beginning to suspect the cleaning staff might be fictional too. From the moment we arrived, I knew we had made a terrible mistake. I genuinely had to remind myself that I was still in Switzerland. The reception looked less like a hotel lobby and more like the aftermath of an airport cancellation. At 9pm, a crowd of people were swarming the counter and arguing with staff, and it wasn’t even obvious where we were supposed to check in. Despite having a very busy schedule, check-in took around 20 minutes and was painfully slow and tedious. Eventually, we were given a 6-digit PIN to access the room and headed upstairs, thinking the worst was over. It was not. I entered the bathroom and was immediately greeted by a massive hair inside the toilet, accompanied by a mysteriously stained toilet seat. I have no idea what the stain was, and quite frankly, I would like to live the rest of my life without finding out. The hand towel was on the bathroom floor and stained, looking less like a fresh hotel towel and more like something that had survived several tours of duty. The shower looked like it had been cleaned using positive thoughts and absolutely nothing else. Then we started noticing the rest of the room. There were huge clumps of dust everywhere, especially between the beds and inside the wardrobe. These weren’t ordinary little specks of dust either. Some of these clumps looked like they had been paying rent longer than the guests. I half expected one to ask us what time breakfast was. The bedsheets weren’t even tucked in properly, which we discovered when we had to move the beds apart. Clearly, attention to detail had packed its bags and checked out long before we arrived. Speaking of bags, there was barely enough space to actually open our luggage. Apparently, the revolutionary concept of guests bringing suitcases to a hotel had not been considered during the room design. The whole room gave the impression that someone had walked in before our arrival, glanced around for three seconds and said, “Yeah, that’ll do.” Basic necessities you would expect from a hotel were lacking, cleanliness appeared to be an optional extra, and the room looked absolutely nothing like the experience advertised online. The difference between the photos and reality was so dramatic that I almost wanted to check whether we had accidentally booked the hotel from Temu. And the price? The most impressive thing about this hotel was its ability to charge Swiss prices while providing an experience that would make a prison cell look like the Four Seasons. I didn’t pay for accommodation; I paid an admission fee to a biohazard. And somehow, even checkout at 6am was chaotic. Walking out of the hotel after only eight hours felt less like checking out and more like being released back into society. The fresh morning air outside genuinely felt like a luxury amenity. PROS: * Free shuttle service. * It takes you away from the hotel. CONS: * Everything else. * Cleanliness. * Bathroom. * Room. * Space. * Check-in. * Checkout. * The psychological burden of wondering what was on that toilet seat. I have stayed in plenty of hotels, but this was comfortably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The photos sold us one thing and reality delivered something from a completely different universe. We did not check into a hotel. We got catfished by a building. The free shuttle deserves the star. The hotel does not.

This was the most disappointing and disgusting thing I have ever witnessed in my life. As soon as I enter to check in there are customers arguing with a staff member about the heating not working in their room. The staff acted like they did not care which made me question if I picked the right hotel. It took so long to check in and when I entered the room, the room reeked of the MOST unpleasant smell ever. The room was messy and there was hair all over the bathroom. There are scribbles on the wall and the room is so small that you can hardly fit your luggage in it. The hygiene is so bad I should actually report for an inspection to take place. In my opinion this place should shut down because of its poor staff, poor rooms and poor hygiene. I am so disappointed because Zürich is a lovely city and this hotel just ruined it for me. I hope this place gets demolished and people realise what this place is actually like ( it looks nothing like the pictures) . DONT WATSE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had the option to rate this a zero, i would rate it a zero. As soon as me and my family walked in to check in at the reception, the receptionist was already arguing with a family and being rude to them because their heating wasn’t working in their room. After, I walked into my room and I was shocked. The walls were so dirty and the room was so tiny. I didn’t think much of it because i’m just staying for one night but then I walked into the bathroom. The hand towel was on the floor. I was disgusted. The sink was tiny with a 3-in-1 shampoo, body wash and hand wash. Next I looked into the toilet and there was hair in it 🤢 i was disgusted again. Next I went to check the beds and tell me why there was so much dust in between the beds. Furthermore there was also a spider in our room which ruined my experience even more. The wardrobe to put your clothes was so dusty to the point where i dont think they clean the rooms when a family is done using it. 0 stars. All the 5 star reviews are fake so just be aware

Dear B&B HOTEL Zurich Airport Rümlang Management Team, I am writing to formally report a very serious and unacceptable situation that occurred during my stay at your hotel on August 4th, 2026, and to request an internal investigation regarding the behavior of a member of your staff. I am a Uruguayan citizen traveling with another Uruguayan guest. Our reservation was at B&B HOTEL Zurich Airport Rümlang. At approximately 8:30 PM, we approached the reception area to ask about available food options and whether there was any vegan alternative, as both of us follow a vegan diet. The employee who attended us, who identified himself as “Kalifa” (we are not certain about the correct spelling of his name), informed us that the only available option was a Margherita pizza. We politely asked again if there was any other possibility, and I approached the counter to ask for his name because I intended to leave a review about the experience. At that moment, the employee’s attitude became completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Instead of assisting us respectfully, he spoke to us in an aggressive and intimidating manner. Among his comments, he asked whether we wanted to “fight outside” and made a sarcastic remark saying that he would prepare a salad “only for us.” We want to emphasize that the main issue is not simply the absence of vegan food options. We understand that not every establishment offers a wide range of alternatives. The serious concern is the disrespectful, hostile, and unacceptable way in which we were treated by a person representing your hotel. A guest should never feel intimidated or disrespected when making a reasonable request or asking for assistance. Unfortunately, this was followed by another inconvenience later the same night. At approximately 11:50 PM, after returning from Zurich city center, both room access cards stopped working. One card was replaced and worked correctly, but the other guest’s card continued to fail and he was eventually moved to another room. This sequence of events resulted in a very negative experience during our stay. As visitors from Uruguay, we expected professional hospitality and respectful treatment while visiting Switzerland. We have informed the Consulate of Uruguay in Switzerland of this situation in order to leave a formal record and request guidance regarding this experience involving Uruguayan citizens abroad. We kindly request: * A formal review of the incident. * An internal investigation regarding the employee’s conduct. * A written response explaining the measures taken to prevent similar situations in the future. We trust that B&B HOTEL, as an international hotel chain, takes guest treatment and staff professionalism seriously. We look forward to your response. Sincerely, Dr. Jorge Fernandez Uruguayan citizen Update: The establishment has responded stating that they conducted an internal investigation and found no misconduct. I respect their position, but I do not agree with their conclusions. My complaint was made in good faith, and I described the events exactly as they occurred, without exaggeration or any intention to harm anyone’s reputation. It is important to note that an investigation carried out internally by the same company, relying mainly on statements from its own employees, cannot be considered a fully independent assessment. I stand by my account of what happened and regret that the establishment’s response was focused on defending its employee rather than acknowledging the experience of a guest.
