Room and everything else was good, except the service was terrible meaning the front desk.
There literally an unexpected emergency flood from there ice machine. When I went to step over to the water my top toes touch the water, gave me a pinch on my toe. And I screamed and noticed after I got over the water the plug in on the wall was sparking. I was scared to jump back over. So I went to the main desk to let him know there is a flood happening and the wall is sparking along with getting a shock on my toes. His response "So? What do you want me to do about, I already called housekeeping" my response was "housekeeping? What are they going to do, you need to call the fire department, I got shocked on my toes and someone can get electrocuted?" He then said "So... I already called housekeeping. And then people beside me and the other gentleman who was security said people are stating there is water leaking onto the 4th floor.
I was ignored. And had to wait for housekeeping to get there. Housekeeping didn't even want to unplug it. Then the front desk man who was being rude, unplugged it.
Checking out this morning,
The floor was still soaked, probably will have mold build up.
Then the front desk said it was not that bad on the 5th floor and no leakage into 4.
Lies. Cause here's a video of the 5th floor.
Here ya go, proof for though's front desk people who think we are over exaggerating....
Disappointing Experience at Best Western Plus Winnipeg Airport Location
I have stayed at different Best Western Plus locations before, and I always expected a certain standard of quality and service. Unfortunately, my experience at the Winnipeg Airport location was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
There was no value for the money spent. The lounge area smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the atmosphere did not feel like a proper hotel reception area. The elevators were dirty, which immediately created a poor first impression.
When we entered the room, we noticed stained and dirty carpets, along with a strong musty smell. The taps were leaking, and there was visible dust on the tables and drawers. Instead of having a relaxing stay, we ended up having a very unpleasant experience.
A hotel of this brand should maintain a minimum standard of cleanliness and comfort, but unfortunately, this location fell far below expectations. I am very disappointed and will not be returning to this hotel again.

We were in Winnipeg for a family reunion and spent our last two nights at the Best Western on Wellington. We were kindly upgraded to a King Suite with Jacuzzi, which was a lovely way to end our trip. The room was spacious, the staff were kind and helpful and the breakfast offered a variety of good food. The complimentary shuttle was a short drive to the airport. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay there again. Thanks!
Checkout on 2026 08 04, mold in ac unit. Broken fridge, specifically the freezer was broken and froze all of our goods. Fire alarm went off on our last day (which wasnt the hotel's fault but was still very inconvenient). Filthy elevators always full of garbage including but not limited to: chicken bones, theft control tags from nearby businesses, and sunflower seeds. Front desk charged wrong card at first (but made it right). Wanted this hotel because of location and pool, pool out of order for our entire visit according to the information tv in the lobby.
Left us more sad and disappointed than anything. We used the hotel as a home base during our trip to the city for our 5 day stay and did not ever look forward to returning in the evening.

This hotel should be closed to your average paying customer. There are people loitering outside the main entrance at all hours, and well into the night. There are about a dozen security guards wandering around looking lost and bored and absolutely doing nothing to create a feeling of safety and security.
After going to my first room, I realized the AC wasn’t working and the room was musty. All of the art has been removed and all the doors have reinforced safety mechanisms. Not exactly a reassuring place to sleep as a solo female traveler. My second room was filthy. I pulled back the covers and it was clear the sheets either hadn’t been washed or there is a bed bug issue. I immediately left without staying. No not recommend under ANY circumstances.
