  We arrived for a weeks stay by the university so my wife could attend classes for her Masters Cram week, or whatever it is. Each year for her degree we come back for an intense 5 dsys for her. Our 3rd year coming and we decided to try a different hotel and the proximity to the University was amazing. Never been to this BW and we were very happy with the presentation aswell. It was very nice looking & modern with a gorgeous atrium. Our room was a king on the 5th floor, it was nice ,clean had fridge & microwave. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have housekeeping each day. However the room was dark, and only had basically cieling LED bright white lighting although the ad showed lamps on the side tables which we didnt have. The LED lighting on the headboard is super bright and right in your face. The lighting sucked amd was headache inducing so we called and asked for a table lamp which was provided. The breakfast buffet is great with good hot & cold selections. We ate at the restaurant and the steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty, I got it to go so service was fast and easy but I noticed the server just running non stop. The next time we ate there we sat in and dined service was slow, both our orders came out wrong, the place was pretty packed with 2 servers and again running non stop since they have to wheel a trolley to the corner of the hotel where the kitchen must be. People waiting were visible unhappy and many times both servers were gone and no one to assist customers. They very much need another hand to help clear tables, get drinks & bills and run to get food. On the last 2 nights the place was busy and I finally understood why I haven't seen many Atrium style hotels. The pool is on the 2nd floor open to the Atrium and the noise levels horrible and carry throughout the hotel amd rooms. There was kids sport teams staying and parents had very little control over them after they were indulging. I dont know who was noiser at times. This was loud til well after 11 pm and my wife needed to get up early to attend class. The second night (Friday) it was just as loud till the same times but then we also had kids running up and down the 5th floor halls knocking on room doors 4 to 5x. I get kids want to have fun but people also need rest for various reasons amd when your paying 180-200 a night for a room i expect some quiet after hours and not this kind of crap. We called front desk and they said they were on it and it did stop. I complained to front desk in the am to which they apologized and deducted $50 off our room for those 2 nights. So if your staying in Calgary, the location is good for stampeders games and the university but the design sucked for noise. The underground parking is also a nice bonus and being close to multiple restaurants off property.

  I didn’t realize that the pool was in the middle of the hotel with no door to access it so not only does it smell like pool everywhere but nothing is sound proof so you can hear the kids in the pool even if your room is on the 4th floor. Staff were very friendly though, decent location and complimentary underground parking

  My family came for a dance competition for my sister and we had an amazing room with a comfortable bed and the pull out couch was amazing to and when my sister invited her friends to the pool because we were all in the hotel and while we were in the pool the parents had a nice seating area I definitely recommend this hotel and the breakfast is a amazing selection.
