*staff are great. It stops about there. We have stayed in multiple Premier Inns as a family all over the country, from Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, London, Dublin... this was by far the worst one. We always tell people how great they are as you know what to expect, clean, fresh, easy etc. This one, there is a strong musty smell- hallways seem to have been covered up in a very strong spray. Room was a bit drab and musty. Fans were actually coated thick with fluffy dust- past reviews are true- so can't use them. And the area is very odd, looks abandoned and lots of rat boxes outside- might not be premier inn, but the closed restaurant? As we left a dog uni pest control van parked up. Again, may not have been fpr premier inn but same location. We actually left asap, awaiting a response from Premier inn customer relations, and booked in another premier inn down the road, which is great!! Bit stressful but we will see what happens.

We stayed after our late flight, and although we were aware that the rooms were not air conditioned, our room was hotter than the surface of the sun, making sleep impossible. A fan had been offered, but made absolutely no difference. The hotel also has no restaurant, and directs you to another hotel just down the road - which does have air conditioning! I know where I’ll be booking next time…

A total discredit to the Premier inn franchise. Not like any premier inns I have ever been in. The only thing saving this hotel is the lovely staff. Every member of staff we encountered were lovely, smiley and very helpful workers. Really attentive, helpful and they’re who I feel bad for. Obviously trying really hard, and they probably get a lot of complaints from other angry guests. But the place is dilapidated. Location isn’t bad, close to the terminals, but not walking distance, so isn’t great. The site looks abandoned. The car park looks as if bombs have gone off. It’s a shame, because with work, it looks as if it could be a lovely area. The main building itself from the outside is cracked, old, and is in need of some work. Lots of overgrown plants/bushes surrounding the place. The inside isn’t much better either. Reception is small, but nice. But the rooms, bit of a different story. No air conditioning in a premier inn hotel in 2026 is mental, and we didn’t even stay on a hot night. It was still boiling. Windows only open slightly. And any cool air coming into the room, we were unable to benefit from as we were on ground floor, and so couldn’t leave the thick curtains open. I’ve been suffering bad asthma as of late, and the 3 fans our room was supplied with were full of dust, and so I deemed them as unusable. Once we turned one of them on, the fan threw lots of dust into the air, and so we gathered we’d rather not breathe in the previous occupants skin cells. Not that it mattered, but the beds weren’t fitted with a duvet, just a singular sheet. The mattresses in all fairness, were very comfortable, even on the smaller singular bed. The rooms were relatively clean, still not at the standard, I expected from Premier inn. However, with all this said, I just want to thank the staff again. The cook/chef in the breakfast buffet was lovely and asked that if we needed anything else to be made, us just to ask. The lady on reception who was going between reception and the breakfast - I think - was really attentive to an allergy in our party, and recleaned our entire table to prevent any potential cross contamination. Huge credits to the staff. Think premier inn needs to give a lot more funding to this hotel. It could be lovely, if a massive renovation takes place.

For an airport hotel the cost was reasonable with free on site parking, which was a massive bonus. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, which during this heatwave is a real problem. The two fans provided in the room didn’t do anything to really help, and at night in a family room it was sweltering. We also booked this hotel due to it having a pub next door, which was advertised when booking. This pub is closed and I was only made aware upon arrival. And email had been sent, but it was after booking and while we were travelling down on the day to check in. The staff were all brilliant though and the breakfast had a good choice. Everything was kept topped up and the food was hot and nice.

Oh dear. This is not what I expect from a premier inn. First impressions aren’t great. The site looks dilapidated with many areas cordoned off or heavily overgrown. Things improve a little once inside with a large open reception area and efficient check-in. Sadly, that was the high point of the stay. The room itself was clean if a little timeworn however it was the heat in the room that was truly oppressive – you know you’re in for a rough night when housekeeping hasn’t even fitted a duvet to the bed (just a sheet) and there are not one but two desk fans. It would not be an exaggeration to say it was one of the worst night any in our party have ever had. I even went to the extreme of taking a cold shower half way through the night to try and cool off and I was still drenched in sweat come morning. I feel sorry for the poor soul who has to lay in that bed next. The fans might have been slightly more effective if you could have moved them closer but Premier Inn had screwed them in place. The good: convenient location; comfortable bed. The bad: lack of ventilation. The ugly: the site itself – very run down.
