  Never can go wrong with a premier inn. Always clean and wonderful beds. I loved using the new check in system. So easy and no waiting. Dont be shy people give it a try.

  The inn at present is under building work in the form of an extension and the intention of the original area - business as usual.... or not... Whilst the extension is to generate more business, what is clearly not up to standard are the rooms - well ours at least, Rm 304 are not serving as the usual standard or working to that standard. We couldn't get the heating to work. It took 3 visits down to Reception to have this rectified. To which I would like to add the person on reception was obliging, even coming to the rescue with a toilet brush and cleaner when we had to report the water was not going down in the toilet - a separate visit down to Reception. The room was shoddy with a well worn look and the main lamp not working, adding to the dark, unwelcoming interior, along with the hairdryer also being faulty, cutting out every few seconds. If you insist on business as usual during a time of building/ refurbishment work, the absolute basics should be to the standard you charge normally and your commitment to facilitate this, unconditionally. The outside and surrounding area and grounds gives off a very poor maintained impression, where some much needed TLC is absent. When we were checking out another lady was also informing Reception of something in her room that also was not working. Whilst the lady in Reception was serving as the maintenance representative as well, it appears the Duty Manager the next day was also doubling up as a room cleaner, changing bedding etc. Come on senior management team, sort this out. This is not only unacceptable for guests, but staff too. What sort of an impression is this creating? Certainly not a professional one!

  Handy for the town centre. They are currently renovating the hotel. Didn’t seem to bother me. No food or drink offering, but there is a pub right next to it. Failing that the town centre is less than a 5 minute walk. Was checked in promptly and it is made clear about parking and registering your vehicle. Rooms a little tired looking in places, have to see if the ongoing facelift helps.
